Drones are not permitted in UCLA neighborhoods
The UCLA has adopted a policy prohibiting the use of drones in and above association properties.
This echoes the US National Park policy and is intended to protect the privacy of residents and guests as well as the community.
Property managers, real estate brokers and others are asked to contact the board for more information.
UC Property Owners can find additional details on the members-only section of this web site.
No Oversized Trucks
50,000 POUND WEIGHT LIMIT ON ROADS
The roads in Upper Carolina are older and were paved back when the trucks on St. John were smaller. It may not be safe for larger vehicles to traverse the paved roads in Upper Carolina. Owners and operators who proceed and use these roads may be liable for any and all damages.
UCLA Restriction:
Trucks over 50000 pounds are prohibited because the paved roads in Upper Carolina are not thick enough to support large trucks.
Road damage will occur even if not immediately evident. Owners (vehicle and property) will be liable for damages to pavement, culvert, landscaping or other areas.
This prohibition includes water trucks over 3500 gallons.
Bonds for all commercial vehicles should be available and sent to the UCLA board and be payable to the Upper Carolina Landowners Association Inc.
Tracked Vehicles
No Metal Tracked Equipment on pavement
Metal tracked equipment must be transported to and from the work site on trucks or trailers with rubber tires.
If the equipment needs to move onto or traverse the paved roadway, plywood or other protections must be placed under the tracks.
Equipment owners and property owners will be liable for any damages to shared infrastructure.
Equipment owners and property owners will be responsible for erosion and cleanup of the roadways, culverts and other areas if proper measures are not taken to guard against these issues.
